why 500

Because 500 is enough to fund the next 18 months, and small enough to mean something.

$199 × 500 = $99,500. That runs one developer (me) and hosting (cheap, because vev runs on your machine, not mine) for the next year and a half. Past that, vev survives on Pro subscriptions and Team seats, or it doesn't.

If it doesn't, you still have the binary. That's the point of local software.

refund

30 days, no questions, reply with "refund". After that, the seat is yours. If you don't want it anymore, transfer it (once). If you don't transfer it, it's still yours — we don't claw back licenses.

You will receive: (1) a .license file, (2) a PGP-signed receipt, (3) the binary download link, (4) the Founding Discord invite. You will not receive: marketing emails, a newsletter, a roadmap vote, a t-shirt.
